75 plays in 70 hours

Admirers of the oeuvres of Munshi Premchand can now watch a marathon of 75 plays based on the writer’s stories. The real feat is that city theatre group Ideal Drama and Entertainment Academy (IDEA), which is organizing the festival in celebration of the famous Hindi- Urdu writer’s 131st birthday on July 31, plan to showcase their entire round-up in just 70 hours. Says Director Mujeeb Khan, who conceived and adapted the scripts, “Seventy-five of our most talented actors have been trained in Premchand’s Hindi-Urdu language over the past three months.
